I am an FWO post-doctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Biological Psychology, within the Brain Research of Affective Mechanisms lab (BRAMLab), at KU Leuven, Belgium.

I hold a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, where I performed my research at the Translational Research Center in Gastrointestinal Disorders (TARGID), within the Laboratory of Disgestion and Absorption (DigALab). While “Translational Research” accurately reflects my current profile, “Gastrointestinal Disorders” is a tad far off. I graduated with a BA in Psychology and an MS.c. in Cognitive Neuroscience – so the only disorders I can claim to be well-acquainted with are those of the brain.

In a twist of fate – as most life events eventually are – I found myself diving deep into the gut and studying how the residing bacteria and the food we consume can modulate psychological processes like stress and anxiety responses.

This website is my online portfolio, a documentation of my research journey, and – in some way – a real-life application of my research – welcome!
