I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Translational Research Center in Gastrointestinal Disorders, KU Leuven, Belgium. While “Translational Research” accurately reflects my current profile, “Gastrointestinal Disorders” is a tad far off. I graduated with a BA in Psychology and an MS.c. in Cognitive Neuroscience – so the only disorders I can claim to be well-acquainted with are those of the brain.

In a twist of fate – as most life events eventually are – I found my way to this exciting PhD project that allowed me to dive deep into the gut and study how the residing bacteria and the food we consume can modulate psychological processes like stress and anxiety-related processes. I was awarded a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven in November 2021.

This website is my online portfolio, as well as a documentation of my research journey – welcome!
